Brief History of the College
The College of Natural Sciences immerged from the College of Science and Agriculture in 2022. This College has her basic objectives as Laboratory Demonstrations, Promoting confidence at the College through participatory learning, Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all students, Improving the efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction of the teaching work force, Ensuring that teachers have access to quality instructional materials and assessment tasks and Promoting creativity and scientific research skills.
MESSAGE FROM THE ACTING DEAN
The topmost problems affecting the tertiary education sector in Liberia which the College of Natural Sciences is of no exception, are the complex set of challenges related to rebuilding and recovery from civil war, constrained national finances, poor infrastructure, the Ebola epidemic, and Covid-19 Pandemic. These challenges include and are not limited to poor learning outcomes and inadequate science laboratories.
With this in mind, the College is ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all students that is getting them to be more interested in learning and it is expanding their horizons. In addition, this has increased their efficiency, innovation, and productivity. Moreover, this has sharpened their critical thinking skills, which are the bases for the development of analytic reasoning.
It can be recalled; higher education is a gateway to developing sound and productive human resources for any given nation. In continuation, higher education is also a driving tool to sound economic stability, sustainable peace, social development, scientific innovation, and technological advancement.
Bearing in mind that higher education is the feedstock to the nation’s developments, the College has desired laboratory demonstrations, participatory learning, improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of the teaching workforce, ensuring that teachers have access to quality instructional materials and assessment tasks and promoting creativity and scientific research skills which has promoted confidence at the College of Natural Sciences.
